Application Requirements and Evaluation of Applicants

Medici College
invites all interested and qualified individuals to apply for admissions to the College.

Applications for admission are reviewed and evaluated as a complete package. No single area within the admission requirements is giving greater weight than any other part. We seek to enroll well-rounded students who have a healthy balance of academic objectives, work ethics, family obligations, and spiritual responsibilities.

Academic qualifications are the cornerstone of our evaluation of applicants, but they are only one part of what makes a successful student. We seek students who will thrive within our program, therefore we will admit students whose academic record may be less than stellar if they demonstrate that they posses characteristics and abilities that will ultimately lead to their successful completion of the program.

We cordially invite you to consider attending Medici College. Please review the application and selection process below, and if you have any questions, contact the Admissions Office at
info@medicicollege.com.

• Satisfactory Completion of Secondary Education:

Successful applicants typically average "B" or better grades in their general secondary-level studies. The Admissions Committee gives careful attention to an applicant’s record in English, languages, history, and social studies. Previous Latin and classical studies are not required, but they may prove helpful in demonstrating a student’s ability and commitment to pursuing the College’s curriculum. Home schooled applicants should provide evidence of completion of secondary-level studies by submitting GED scores or other record of academic assessment, such as a full transcript of courses completed, including grades earned and/or narrative evaluation of performance.

• Standardized Examination Scores (ACT/SAT):

The College uses ACT/SAT scores to identify the academic strength and weakness of an applicant. These standardized tests have been found to be generally reliable indicators of future academic success at the undergraduate level. However this measure is never considered outside the context of the student’s overall academic record and application portfolio. The College requires a composite score of 20 or higher on the ACT, and 1000 or higher on the SAT to be granted full admission. Students who score below the required minimums may be admitted on a provisional basis and provided the opportunity to demonstrate their academic abilities during their first academic term.

• Essay on Why You Wish to Attend Medici College:

The Admissions Committee wants to know how serious a student is about attending the College and how well the student will fit into our online community. The Committee tries to identify applicants whose educational goals and interests will be best served by the College and its Christian approach to education. The Committee encourages applicants to explain why they think Medici College meets their specific academic and personal goals, and why they think they will benefit from the College’s program.

Admission of Transfer Students

Medici College
permits only minimal transfer of credit of course equivalencies from other colleges and universities. Transfer of credit will be considered on an individual, course-by-course basis. Applicants must declare their desire to transfer credit from another postsecondary institution at the time of application to Medici College, and they must do so by noting the appropriate place on the application form. Official transcripts must be sent from the previous postsecondary institution in order for transfer credit to be considered.

Provisional Admissions

Medici College
may admit a student on a provisional basis for their first term if the student desires to attend the College, but does not qualify for regular admission. Provisionally admitted students will not receive credit toward their Medici College program unless they meet or exceed a C average on all work taken in the first term.  The College will formally change provisionally admitted students status to regular standing after successful completion of the first term if the student obtains a minimum of a C average on all work taken in the first term. The College will disqualify or suspend students who fail to obtain this requirement. Provisionally admitted students must pay all the regular fees and tuition.

Application Form

To apply to Medici College, prospective students must submit the College's Application Form and return the required materials by the prescribed deadline, along with a $50 application fee. Applications will not be processed without full payment of the application fee.

Proof of High School Graduation

For new undergraduate students (first time freshmen and transfer), acceptable documentation of high school graduation or its equivalency must be received by Medici College prior to the start of the first term in the degree program of study. It is the student’s responsibility to provide this documentation. Any student that does not provide documentation of high school equivalency by the last day of the first term of study may be subject to cancellation from the College. Acceptable documentation of high school graduation or its equivalency may include a copy of a high school transcript or diploma, GED transcript or certificate, a DD-214 form, college transcript or other written verification that demonstrates high school graduation or equivalency.

English Proficiency and English as a Second Language

Prospective students whose first language is not English are required to provide proof of English proficiency prior to undergraduate admission.
